I am your most impatient reader, no?

I LOVE THEM. They are BEAUTIFUL. Love the color of the wood and I feel a sudden urge to get in there and organize things in them. Very inviting cabinets!

It's going to be just wonderful Kirsten! I bet you will be become a Cooking Queen because you won't want to leave your kitchen! ;)

Well, the first time I looked at your photos, I felt really sad. I don't know why I felt so sad. I think it might have been the fact that I can no longer say I've seen your kitchen, and so I felt like I wasn't really your friend anymore, because real friends have seen each other's kitchens (something like that, anyway...).

But every day I've come back to your blog and studied the photos again, and I feel less sad and more excited. Kirsten, I think this kitchen is going to be so great. These cabinets are sooooooo much better. I never even noticed how worn out your old cabinets were until I spent time studying these before and after shots. I think it is going to be so much easier to work in this kitchen.

It was a very good idea to pursue this kitchen makeover. Smart thinking, Kirsten.

I especially love:

The new kitchen floor. Very pretty grains.

The ceiling fan in the living room. Ceiling fans were one of the best inventions in the history of the world. I bet you'll use it constantly in the summer.

The widened doorway next to where your eat-in table used to be. The light just pours into the living room now. And I like the way you used the lip to divide the orange paint from the white in the kitchen. That surprised me at first, because I was imagining there was going to be a smooth wall there, but it keeps the character of the doorway more intact to have that lip--a little more formality.

The white paint. I love your bright colored rooms, too, but it seems like it will be kind of nice to be able to make over your kitchen whenever you want to just by switching out your accessories. It's a very neutral palette. Peggy McCarthy has a black and white kitchen, too, and she changes her display pieces every couple of months, rotating them with the seasons. It's very fun and festive and I always look forward to seeing what comes next.

The tall narrow look of the cabinet doors -- kind of contrasts nicely with the long horizontal rectangle of the cabinet block.

I love it, Kirsten. I think it turned out really, really well.

I heard you talk about the plans. You even showed me some things at Home Depot and Ikea. But seeing it in the pictures makes it so exciting. Can't wait to see the new counter tops. Well done Kirsten. Shall we call this "Kirstens House" :) Move over "Sarah".
